FAQ's

Full committee review requires a convened meeting of a quorum of the IACUC members. The proposals are reviewed by the full committee and must receive the approval vote of a majority (>50%) of the quorum present in order receive approval. Designated member review is the process by which submissions may be reviewed at times other than the regularly scheduled meetings of the IACUC. Each member will have the opportunity to request full committee review and if no member requests full committee review, the Chair designates one or more qualified members to review the proposal (or proposed amendment). These designated members have authority to approve, require modifications in (to secure approval), or request full committee review.
Allow sufficient time for the review of your application. Approximate time for Designated Member Review is 6 – 15 days and Full Committee Review 4 – 10 weeks from the time you submit the application.

All IACUC protocol submissions must be submitted electronically through the eProtocol platform.

Protocols to be reviewed via Full Committee Review MUST be submitted by no less than 30 days before the next scheduled meeting to be considered for that month’s scheduled meeting unless a change in meeting dates occurs, at which time the change will be noted on the website.
