Establishing a strong foundation early in your career is essential for long-term success. The Research Development team is here to assist you in navigating the complexities of proposal preparation, providing strategic guidance, and building a supportive environment.
We offer hands-on assistance to help you:
Align proposals with funder priorities
Identify and strengthen specific proposal sections (e.g., broader impacts, intellectual merit)
Enhance proposal clarity and competitiveness
Effectively interpret and apply constructive feedback from internal and external reviews
The Research Development team at UTEP is dedicated to helping you navigate this landscape, developing competitive proposals that not only advance your research but also contribute to the broader scientific community.
Career Club offers a holistic and strategic approach to proposal development. Designed for early career faculty, it provides:
A supportive community of fellow researchers on similar journeys.
Proposal development resources to guide research initiatives.
Targeted events to enhance skills and push proposals forward with both federal and non-federal funding agencies.
Career Club members receive comprehensive support. Starting early in a cohort setting allows for setting benchmarks, refining ideas, and receiving feedback from the Research Development team and subject matter experts.
Members will have access to monthly events featuring comprehensive proposal development training and valuable networking opportunities. These events are designed to enhance skills in crafting compelling proposals and advancing grant writing.
Networking is a central component of the Career Club. Connect with like-minded faculty, exchange experiences, and build relationships that can support future research endeavors. The connections made within this community can lead to collaborations, ideas, and resources that support long-term success.
The Career Club officially begins each September; however, any early-career faculty can join at any time throughout the year.
