COUNSELING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES
WE’RE STILL HERE FOR YOU!
UTEP has made modifications to university operations to help slow the spread of COVID-19 for Fall 2020. Counseling and Psychological Services will continue to provide counseling services to students. To support UTEP in its efforts to protect students from COVID-19, CAPS will now deliver all services through video or over the phone. If you would like to speak with a counselor, rather than coming to our main office, please call us at 915-747-5302 from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday-Friday. If you have questions about services during this time, feel free to give us a call.
On Call Crisis services: CAPS will continue to have On-Call counselors available over video or the phone for same day appointments. Please refer to our Crisis & Emergency page to learn what is considered a mental health crisis.
Our Miners Talk: Crisis Line will also remain in operation for after-hours services. After hours, please call 915.747.5302.
CAPS will suspend the following activities while UTEP is closed:
- In person Outreach Activities. CAPS is available to provide virtual outreach presentations. Learn more about scheduling a CAPS presentation for your class, organization, or department. Check our “CAPS to Go” link below to learn about upcoming live video outreach presentations.
- Disability Assessments – CAPS must temporarily suspended its Disability Assessment Program. We are currently working on ways to provide this service in a manner that follows university policy for safety and social distancing.
*Please note that due to the circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, there may be a delay in responding to any counseling, outreach, and any other related requests. We appreciate your understanding during this time.
