F-1 and J-1 STUDENTS
F-1 and J-1 visas are granted citizens of foreign country who seek to enter the United States to participate in a program of study. U.S. visa. Depending on the proposed educational goals, F-1 or J-1 applicants may enroll in degree or non-degree seeking programs. The Office of International Programs at the University of Texas at El Paso/UTEP issues
- I-20 documents, leading to the F1 visa, to applicants planning to attend UTEP as fully matriculated student in a degree or certificate program and English Language Institute prospective students; and,
- DS-2019 documents, leading to the J-1 visa, international applicants seeking to matriculate full-time in a degree program or in a non-degree student exchange or visiting program that will fulfill the educational objectives for the student’s degree program in his or her home country.
