Hunt Business Creates Summer Research Program for Undergraduates

Why it matters:
Hunt Business has created a new structured research program designed to allow undergraduate students to explore research in business.
The initiative begins this summer with a paid, faculty-mentored research experience for eight students across four academic disciplines.
The Program
The Hunt Research Program will select:
- 2 students in Accounting
- 2 students in Finance
- 2 students in Management
- 2 students in Marketing
Selected students will work directly with Hunt faculty on active research projects in Summer 2026.
The program is 15 weeks long; fellows commit to working as Research Assistants for 20 hours per week.
Each fellow will receive a stipend of $3,600.
What Fellows Will Do
Participants will:
- Assist with data collection and analysis
- Attend research meetings
- Contribute to ongoing faculty scholarship
- Gain exposure to how academic research is developed and published
The experience is structured to introduce students to graduate-level expectations and academic research standards.
The Long-Term Vision
The pilot will help develop a doctoral research track designed as an entry point into Hunt master’s programs and, for interested students, eventual Ph.D. study.
“We are excited to offer our students these paid opportunities, expanding their access to explore careers in academic research, a benefit typically available only at accredited R1 institutions like ours,” Jimenez said.
