Hunt College Networking Mixer Draws 618 Students
Students connected with employers from across the region and the nation to explore career paths, opportunities, and professional relationships.
The Big Picture
About 620 students came ready to connect.
About 620 students attended the Hunt College of Business Networking Mixer on Wednesday, Sept. 16, connecting with employers from across the region and the nation.
Held at the El Paso Natural Gas Conference Center, the event brought 16 organizations to campus to meet Hunt College students and discuss internships, full-time positions, and career paths across a range of industries.
Why It Matters
Strong partnerships create more opportunity.
The mixer moves beyond the traditional career fair model focused primarily on immediate openings. Students at every stage of their career journey can begin conversations, learn about different industries, and build relationships with employers before they need them.
For some students, that meant pursuing an internship or full-time position. For others, it meant making an early connection with an employer or gaining a better understanding of where their degree could take them.
“Strong partnerships create opportunities for our students. When employers come to campus and spend time with our students, they help turn what students are learning into conversations, connections, and opportunities that can shape what comes next.”

Inside the Mixer
A conversation that could lead somewhere.
Throughout the event, students introduced themselves to employers, shared résumés, discussed their academic and professional interests, and learned more about opportunities available across different industries.
Those conversations ranged from immediate internships and full-time positions to questions about workplace experiences, career paths, and the skills employers look for when hiring new graduates.
A conversation on campus can become a new contact, an internship lead, a better understanding of an industry, or the beginning of a relationship that carries into a student’s career.
