Best practices
Naming Convention
Downloadable Files (pdf, pptx, doc, etc.):
- Must be all in lower caps.
- Should be prefixed with “utep-“
- Example: utep_ppt_template-1.pptx
Pages and links:
- Names must be in lowercase
- Cannot contain spaces, instead they can contain dashes
- should not start with the words 'utep'
File Size
Downloadable Files (pdf, pptx, doc, etc.) - Max Size: 10MB
- Optimize formats & compression.
- Remove unnecessary elements.
- Consider bandwidth limitations.
Images (png, jpg, svg, gif, etc.) - Max Size: 200KB
- Resize & compress images.
- Optimize image formats.

The size of the file will highly vary depending on the image quality, format, and compression used. Online compression tools may help you minimize the file size while also maintaining image quality

- All images must have the same size
- Image should be clear and high-quality
WYSIWYG Images
- Width max of 800 pixels, aspect ratio may vary
- Image size may vary depending on the importance of the image or text
- Images should be high-quality and have small file sizes (200KB max)
