Step 2- After Applying for Graduation
Candidates for graduation notify the University of their intention to participate in their graduation ceremony by registering with Marching Order. Candidates who are unsure if they will participate are advised to register even if the candidate is not sure of their attendance. A candidate registered through Marching Order receives critical information designed to inform the graduate about their graduation ceremony.

Regalia
All participants dress for commencement according to traditions stemming from the world’s oldest universities. The regalia worn by graduates and faculty members signifies the various degrees, disciplines, and institutions of the members of the academic procession and is an outward sign of membership in the university community.
Regalia requirements differ for degrees and schools. Candidates can visit the UTEP Bookstore to purchase regalia and announcements.
Regalia (caps, gowns, tassels, etc) will be available for purchase online or in-person at the UTEP Bookstore up to the day of commencement.
There are two types of regalia available for purchase, standard regalia sold by the bookstore and custom fine regalia sold by Jostens.
STANDARD REGALIA
Standard regalia (bachelors, masters, and doctoral) can be ordered from the bookstore website starting on Friday, March 8, 2024 through Wednesday, May 1, 2024. The last day to purchase regalia in store is Friday, May 10, 2024. In addition, regalia will be available at Memorial Gym on Commencement Day for any last-minute needs. To order online click here.

JOSTENS CUSTOM FINE QUALITY REGALIA
In order to meet the needs of graduates for the spring semester, the last day to order the regalia is March 8, 2024. This will allow time for the regalia to be produced, shipped, and received for Commencement.
