3D Printing of Polymer Blends

Printable polymeric materials (ABS, polycarbonate, PLA) with additives (including plant fibers, metal, metal oxides, and carbon fibers) in the formation of polymer matrix composites and several new polymer/polymer blends that allow for tailoring material properties to meet specific applications are being developed. Moreover monofilament feedstock that can be used as 'ink' by material extrusion-based 3D printers, a method, which is also known by the trade name fused deposition modeling (FDM) has been successfully developed.
