ExciTES - Online Application
The ExciTES Summer Institute strongly encourage students from the following backgrounds to apply:
- Underrepresented in computing or engineering; defined as being African American, Hispanic/Latino/LatinX, Native American, and/or female
- Underserved; defined as coming from low socioeconomic means which may be indicated by qualification for free/reduced lunch
- Potentially the first family member to attend college
Academic Reference - Share the contact information of a reference who can speak on behalf of your academic or extra-curricular performance. Your reference can be a teacher, counselor, or someone else at your school, but should not be a family member or friend.
Personal Reference - Share the contact information of a reference who can write about your aspirations or dreams and your ability to work in a team. Your reference can be a neighbor, a coach, someone from your church, or almost anybody who may be contacted to share what they your aspirations and teamwork abilities.
ExciTES Scholarship - You will be asked the following questions should you apply to the ExciTES Scholarship to cover the fees associated with our sessions:
- Tell us about a time when you faced a challenge and describe how you overcame it.
- How would paying for an ExciTES session fee impact your decision to attend ExciTES?
- What do you feel you will gain by attending an ExciTES / AI4ALL session?
Application Timeline
- April 15: Application Opens
- May 15: Priority Deadline
- May 16-17: Reviewal of Priority Applications
- May 18: Acceptance Emails sent to student and their parents
- After May 18: Late Applications - applications will be reviewed and our ExciTES Team will respond within 48 hours
