There are many ways to engage with the Graduate School! Follow us on social media (@UTEPgradschool), share your expertise and experience through mentoring, donate your time to our professional development and support activities, and give of your finances.
Graduate students and early-career academics depend on community members, as well as established scholars and professionals, to help them understand their chosen field, build networks, conduct research, and launch their career. UTEP alumni in the STEM fields can click here to register and be matched UTEP students seeking mentors. Please visit MentorNet-Online to access resources and mentor-mentee matching on the national level. If you are interested in mentoring aspiring PhDs in business from underrepresented groups, please visit the PhD Project.
The Graduate School offers a variety of professional development workshops and other activities designed to ensure the success of our students and postdocs. There are myriad opportunities for more established scholars and professionals to contribute to these initiatives, including facilitating a workshop, serving as a judge for the annual Graduate Research Expo, or hosting a graduate intern.
The majority of students attending UTEP are first generation college students who never dreamed, even a few years ago, that they may attain an undergraduate degree from a university. Today an increasing number of UTEP students are realizing that their talents are well-served by enrolling in graduate school. By giving to the Graduate School, you help fund student research and travel, graduate assistantships, and support services that enable our graduate students to complete their degrees and meet their long-term professional and academic goals.
