Making an audio or video call on Microsoft Teams
Please follow these steps to make an audio or video call to another UTEP User on Microsoft Teams:
1. Launch the Microsoft Teams app and click on the "Calls" icon on the left-hand column. The "Speed dial" section will be highlighted and contacts from your Teams will be listed. You have the option of adding any UTEP user as a "Speed dial" by using the "Add speed dial" button:
2. You can quickly make a "Video call" by clicking the camera icon immediately below a User:
3. You can also make a quick audio-only call by clicking on a User's "Call contact" icon:
4. If the User you wish to call is not listed in "Speed dial," you can call any UTEP User by clicking on the "Make a call" button in the lower left-hand corner:
5. In the "Type a name" search box, enter the email address of the UTEP User you wish to call. You may also use the "LastName, FirstName" format to search. The system will also make user suggestions:
6. Once the desired User appears, click on the name to select it:
7. Once the User is selected, the two call buttons (audio and video) become available. You can also search for and add additional users to include in the call:
8. If you are making an audio-only call, the background will be blank, the User's initials and name will appear and the camera icon will be slashed. You have the option of ending the call at any time with the red "Hang up" button.
9. If you are making a video call, the background will be the image from your webcam, the User's initials and name will appear and the camera icon will be normal. You have the option of ending the call at any time with the red "Hang up" button:
10. To end an active call, click on the red "Hang up" button:
