The Diana Natalicio Institute for Hispanic Student Success was established to carry forward the legacy of President Emerita Diana Natalicio and her bold commitment to educational access and student success. At our core, we focus on research, leadership development, and institutional collaboration that advance evidence-based approaches that shape the future of higher education.
Your support enables the Institute to advance research, build leadership capacity, foster collaboration, and transform systems across higher education. Contributions help expand the reach and impact of our work to translate evidence into action, drawing on approaches developed at broad access Institutions to empower educators, researchers, and institutional leaders as they implement practices that improve student outcomes.
Your contributions allow us to:
Support the generation and dissemination of evidence that informs policies and practices shown to improve student success and institutional effectiveness.
Provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development for future broad access higher education leaders.
Fund lectures, panels, and convenings that bring together researchers and leaders to advance dialogue, collaboration, and shared learning across institutions.
Each year, our Raise Your Pick campaign spotlights a key initiative advancing the Institute’s mission. In 2025, we raised support for the Graduate Fellowship in Higher Education. During 2026, we will continue this effort to provide professional development and hands-on experience for students preparing to lead at Hispanic-Serving Institutions. The 2026 Raise Your Pick Giving Day will take place on April 21-22, although this page remains open year-round to welcome donations supporting the Institute’s mission and ongoing work.
Thanks to generous support on Raise Your Pick Giving Day, the Institute secured funding to grow the Graduate Fellowship in Higher Education — empowering future higher ed leaders through hands-on experiences made possible by our generous UTEP alumni, friends, and partners.
