What we do here matters

Since 1914, The University of Texas at El Paso has served the Paso del Norte region as a gateway to opportunity, providing access to an excellent higher education for high-aspiring students, irrespective of background or socioeconomic status.

Today, just over half of our students are the first in their families to attend college, and nearly the same number report a family income of less than $38,000. When they graduate, however, they will have earned degrees that enable them to move up the ladder to the top 20% of income earners.

This University is both for our community and of our community... desperately needed to meet both the educational and workforce needs of the region we serve.
