Overview

The Book Subvention Program (BSP), facilitated and supported by Research & Innovation (R&I), supports faculty publishing scholarly books. This award provides funding for eligible expenses associated with the final stages of book publication.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the BSP, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Faculty Status: Must be a full-time, tenured or tenure-track faculty member at the University.
  • Project Stage: The book manuscript must be substantially complete. Applicants must provide evidence of a publishing agreement or documented interest from a reputable scholarly or university press.
  • Scholarly Work: The book must contribute to its academic field and demonstrate scholarly merit.
  • Previous Awards: Applicants who have received similar funding within the past two years are not eligible.

Reporting: A detailed report outlining the outcome of the book’s publication is required six months after publication.

If selected, the awardee agrees to provide R&I with statements for future marketing collateral, such as the R&I annual magazine and newsletter.

Funding Cycle: The award is announced during the spring semester and concludes at the end of the fiscal year.
