Mathematica


Mathematica is considered the world's most powerful technical computing system. Mathematica provides a single integrated, continually expanding system that covers the breadth and depth of technical computing.


System Requirements - Available for Windows, Mac and Linux

 


Access / Download


Student personally owned computers:

Student home-use licenses are requested directly on the Wolfram User Portal.

  • Create an account(New users only):
    1. Go to user.wolfram.com and click "Create Account"
    2. Fill out form using a @miners.utep.edu email, and click "Create Wolfram ID"
    3. Check your email and click the link to validate your Wolfram ID
  • Request the download and key:
    1. Fill out the Activation Key Request Form .
    2. Once the request is approved, click the "Product Summary page" link to access your license.
    3. Click "Get Downloads" and select "Download" next to your computer's operating system.
    4. Run the installer on your machine, and enter the Activation Key at the prompt.

Faculty and staff personally owned computers:

Faculty and staff home-use licenses are requested directly on the Wolfram User Portal.


Access Mathematica Online:

  • Create an account(New users only):
    1. Navigate to Wolfram's User Portal, user.wolfram.com , and click "Create Account"
    2. Fill out the form using a @utep.edu email, and click "Create Wolfram ID"
    3. Click on “manage Wolfram ID” on the top right corner, then look for and click the link “send verification email”. The verification email may take several minutes to reach your inbox.
    4. Reply to the verification email, and check that your account has been verified.

  • Access Mathematica Online:
    1. Request access via the Activation Request Form (specific to UTEP Mathematica Online).
    2. Once access is granted (it may take a few minutes), access Mathematica online via wolframcloud.com .

After completing the steps above, you may go to Mathematica online directly by signing into wolframcloud.com.
