July 23, 2009
The College of Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso is pleased to announce that Austin Marshall, J.D., has been named Clinical Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, effective August 2009.
Formerly President of Geomanagement, LLC, a construction management and engineering consulting firm in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Marshall will lead the construction management programs at UTEP, including the newly offered Construction Management Certificate Program.
Established in January 2009, UTEP’s Construction Management Certificate Program is designed for students preparing for a career in construction management or who are in mid-career already. The program also serves as a foundation for creating a master's program in construction management and engineering at UTEP.
“We are very excited to bring Austin Marshall on board, with his combination of civil engineering, construction management, and law education and experience,” said Dr. Richard Schoephoerster, Dean of the College of Engineering. “He will work with the local construction and infrastructure industry to build a very solid MS program in construction management at UTEP.”
Marshall has more than thirty years of experience managing consulting engineering and construction management operations. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit. He earned a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus in Construction Management from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cornell University.
