Donations for Citations
Resolve one eligible parking citation by donating items to the UTEP Food Pantry.
This limited-time program partners the UTEP Student Government Association, Parking & Transportation Services, Center for Community Engagement, and the UTEP Food Pantry to meet student basic needs while offering a community-focused path to resolve one qualifying citation.

- Event dates: November 17–21
- Eligible citations issued: Aug 1, 2024 – Nov 16, 2025
✅ Who’s Eligible?
- You have one unpaid citation with a base fine ≤ $50, issued within the eligible dates.
- The citation is not under appeal (or you agree to withdraw the appeal).
🚫 Not Eligible
ADA violations, fire lane, fraudulent permit use, tow/boot fees, illegal entry/exit, property damage, or any violation with a base fine over $50.
🛠️ How It Works
- Complete the online request form.
- Bring your donations and form confirmation to a collection site during the event window.
- We verify eligibility and count your items on the spot.
- If everything checks out, your qualifying citation is dismissed immediately. You’ll receive a confirmation number for your records.
🎁 What to Donate
All items must be full-sized, new, sealed, unexpired, and in original packaging. Size limits help the Food Pantry store and distribute donations efficiently.
📦 Size Limits
- Canned items: up to 15 oz
- Shelf-stable milk: up to 32 oz
- Juice: up to 20 oz
- Dry rice/beans: up to 2 lbs
- Pasta sauce: up to 24 oz; tomato sauce up to 12 oz
✅ Most-Needed Items
- Peanut butter; canned meats; vegetables/beans
- Chef Boyardee, soups, chili; rice/pasta; cereal & oatmeal
- Mac & cheese cups, ramen, granola bars, Pop-Tarts
- Applesauce & fruit cups; 100% juice boxes
- Toilet paper; shampoo/conditioner; soap; lotion
- Menstrual pads (unopened); toothpaste & toothbrushes
- Electrolyte drinks; protein snacks (nuts, trail mix, Slim Jims)
Opened, damaged, or expired items do not count toward the total.
📍 Where to Donate
Drop off donations at the Parking Office (3737 N. Mesa St., Suite A) or any staffed tabling site during the event. Look for signs and volunteers with collection bins.
📝 Program Terms (Summary)
- One citation dismissal per person during the event.
- Citation must be unpaid, with base fine ≤ $50, issued within the eligible window.
- Appeals must be withdrawn before we can process dismissal.
- No refunds or credits for citations already paid.
- PTS reserves the right to decline ineligible submissions.
