Commencement Spotlight: Student Marshals and Banner Bearers
What’s Happening: Four Hunt Business students will take on ceremonial leadership roles at UTEP’s Spring Commencement, serving as Student Marshals and Banner Bearers.
Chosen for their academic excellence, leadership, and service to the college, these students will represent the graduating class as they lead the procession into the next chapter of their journey.
Who They Are:
- Leslie Flores Escudero will serve as the Student Marshal.
A finance major, she reactivated the Finance and Investments Club and competed in the CFA Research Challenge. Her internship at Flō Networks deepened her understanding of financial strategy, while her leadership roles in Beta Alpha Psi and her recognition as the Finance & Economics Department Outstanding Senior reflect her academic excellence. After graduation, she plans to work at the Mexican Stock Exchange as a Derivatives Trading Analyst and pursue a Master’s in Finance. - Victoria Ramos will represent Hunt Business as the College Banner Bearer.
She earned a perfect 4.0 GPA while completing 24 undergraduate and 2 graduate-level accounting courses through the FastTrack program. A Teaching Assistant and active member of the Accounting Society, Ramos credits her success to the support of faculty, family, and mentors. She will continue her studies through the UTEP Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program and plans to become a Certified Public Accountant. - John Byrd will be recognized as the Graduate School Student Marshal.
A student in the MAcc, Byrd began his UTEP journey as a University employee. He credits staff for inspiring him and shaping his view of UTEP as a transformative institution. Supported by his wife and children, Byrd aspires to become a CFO. - Daniel Boudreau will serve as the Graduate School Banner Bearer.
A U.S. Army retiree and student in the UTEP Executive MBA program, Boudreau found his most meaningful experiences during his study abroad trip to Amsterdam. He also cites the community engagement project in the EMBA as a special learning experience. Those experiences connected classroom learning to real-world practice. Boudreau recently began a new role as an operations manager at the Marshalls Distribution Center in El Paso and plans to continue growing into leadership roles in his second career.
