Hunt Business Students Compete in HSI Battle of the Brains

The Big Picture
The Accounting and Information Systems Department opened its doors to twelve regional employers for Meet the Firms — an evening where students introduced themselves to the companies that may shape their careers.
Why It Matters
Accounting students don’t wait until graduation to enter the profession. Meet the Firms provides students a chance to speak with hiring managers early, ask real questions about work and culture, and leave with something more concrete than advice: a name, a handshake, a next step.
What Happened
Students arrived in suits, carrying résumés and rehearsed introductions. Some moved directly to the firms they recognized. Others lingered, gathering nerve before walking up.
Victoria Ramos, a Master of Accountancy student, said she expected general conversation. “They asked what kinds of roles I wanted and what I’ve worked on. They were listening. It felt serious — like a doorway, not just an event.”
