How do I register to Vote?
Here is a simple step-by-step guide below to make the voter registration process easy to follow:
You are eligible to vote in Texas if:
- You are a U.S. Citizen,
- You are a resident of Texas,
- AND you will be 18 years old or older by November 3, 2020.
Registering to vote at your current address:
- www.register2vote.org
- Complete and submit the online form (you’ll be mailed a form filled with your information and a pre-addressed, postage-paid envelope)
- Sign and date your application, put it in the envelope provided, and place it in the mail before October 5.
Registering to vote if you’ve had to relocate due to the pandemic:
- Apply for a mail-in ballot: https://www.register2vote.org/?appIntent=vbm
- Complete and submit the online form (you’ll be mailed a form populated with your information and a pre-addressed, postage-paid envelope)
- Sign and date your application, put it in the envelope provided, and place it in the mail before October 19 (the deadline for receipt so that you get your mail in ballot is October 23).
- You will then get your mail in ballot, which needs to be completed and mailed in or postmarked by Election Day.

To vote in Texas, you must be registered. Simply complete a Voter Registration Application,

We cannot accept completed applications via email but applications can be submitted via fax as long as the original application is received in our office within four calendar days of the date the fax is transmitted (SB910). Please fax your Voter Registration Application to (915) 546-2220.
Voter Registration Applications are also available at any U.S. Post Office, the Department of Public Safety, El Paso Public Libraries, Texas Health and Human Services Commission offices, and any local high school.
After you apply, a Voter Registration Certificate (your proof of registration) will be mailed to you within 30 days. Check your certificate to ensure all information is correct. If there is an error, make corrections and mail your certificate in an envelope to our office immediately.

Activities
These are a list of thing to stay engaged if you are currently not able to vote
Students can participate in virtual voter registration drives. Students will have a set number of people they will have had to help register. This will be done with the help of the following websites.
- Rock the Vote
- County Elections Department
- Creating bipartisan cartoons and/or a neutral statement covering a political issue that can be added to the UTEP newspaper, The Prospector Contact - Student Media and Publications - Advertising Department ProspectorAds@utep.edu
- Follow legislators on social media & tag them in tweets or posts for issues you are advocating.
