The Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ruimin Ke, Ph.D., as assistant professor. Please join us in welcoming Ruimin to the Miner family and wishing him every success in this new position.
Ke earned his civil engineering doctoral degree in Intelligent Transportation Systems from the University of Washington in 2020. His research expertise is rooted in transportation systems and smart cities with a focus on machine learning, video image processing and the Internet of Things Applications. Ke is an active author of journal publications, conference proceedings, technical reports, as well as an active collaborator on research projects, mentorship and professional leadership. Ke brings a wealth of experience to his new role of performing meaningful collaborative research throughout the course of his career.
We are also delighted to announce the new appointments of a number of existing faculty members deservedly being promoted starting this fall semester. Imad Abdallah, Ph.D., and Ivonne Santiago, P.E., Ph.D., promoted to associate professors. Austin Marshall J.D., and Raed E. Aldouri, Ph.D., were transitioned to professors of practice and Henry Van, Ph.D., was appointed as visiting professor for the academic year 2021-22.
Together, they bring quality of instruction, research and support to our current and future civil engineering and construction engineering and management students.
