HENAAC Recognizes UTEP Alum for Professional Achievement – Military

UTEP Industrial, Manufacturing & Systems Engineering graduate Luis D. Villarreal was recognized for his professional achievements in the military at the 20th Anniversary Hispanic Engineering National Achievement Awards Conference (HENAAC) in October.
Villarreal currently serves as Industrial Capabilities and Warstopper Program Manager for the Defense Logistics Agency, Department of Defense. Warstopper is a Department of Defense (DOD) industrial investment program created to resolve industrial issues for wartime demand and is the largest DOD program of its kind.
A community advocate, Villarreal helped to establish a non-profit foundation for educational and community projects in South Texas. He also co-founded the Seashore Learning Center, an exemplary Texas charter school with national recognition for excellence.
Villarreal has received numerous awards and honors for his leadership and service, including the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service and the Leadership Award from the Army Aviation Association of America.
Villarreal was recognized for his achievements at the HENAAC Awards Show Gala on October 11, 2008 and throughout other events during the 20th Anniversary Career Conference & Awards Show.
