The Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) proudly congratulates Associate Professor Adeeba Raheem, Ph.D., on her well-deserved induction into the El Paso Women’s Hall of Fame. Selected by the El Paso Commission for Women Board of Directors for her exceptional contributions to the City of El Paso, Raheem represents the pinnacle of empowerment in our community.
“Dr. Raheem's induction into the El Paso Women's Hall of Fame is a testament to her exceptional contributions to our community,” remarked Department of Civil Engineering Chair, Carlos Ferregut, Ph.D. “Her impactful leadership, remarkable contributions as an educator, and strong commitment to encouraging others have made a lasting impression on the lives of countless individuals, serving as a source of inspiration and a strong guiding force for women everywhere.”
Kenith Meissner, Dean of the College of Engineering, added: "Adeeba Raheem's induction into the El Paso Women's Hall of Fame is a proud moment for the College of Engineering at UTEP. Her dedication to excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement exemplifies the values we strive to instill in our faculty and students. We celebrate her achievements and look forward to her continued contributions to our university and the broader community."
In recognition of her outstanding achievements, the City and County of El Paso presented Raheem with a Proclamation, marking this significant milestone in her rich career. The Mayor and Council of the City of El Paso formally declared Raheem, along with nine other women, honorees of the El Paso Commission for Women Hall of Fame, designating April 9, 2024, as El Paso Commission for Women Hall of Fame Honorees Day. The star on the Franklin Mountain was lit in honor of Inductees.
"I am humbled to have my contributions acknowledged in this meaningful way. I am incredibly proud to be part of such a distinguished group of women who have made significant contributions to the betterment of our community. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving our community and advocating for positive change,” Raheem said.
Since its establishment in 1985, the El Paso Commission for Women has been steadfast in acknowledging and celebrating the indelible contributions of women to the City of El Paso. Since joining the Department of Civil Engineering at UTEP in 2014, Raheem’s influence has profoundly impacted both the community and the university, fostering a legacy of empowerment among female faculty, staff and aspiring civil engineers poised to endure for years to come.
