RIMES Awarded $464,000 from Lockheed Martin Aeronautics

The Research Institute for Manufacturing and Engineering Systems (RIMES) at The University of Texas at El Paso has been awarded $464,000 to execute several projects for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.
Projects for Lockheed Martin include radar range equations, a radio frequency communication link, physical sensor and image algorithms, systems engineering modeling, air mass, inertial and geo-centric reference frames including transition, rotation and transformation.
Also Included in the award is a summer internship for Dr. Eric Smith, Assistant Professor of Industrial, Manufacturing & Systems Engineering at UTEP. During the internship at Lockheed Martin in Forth Worth, Texas, Smith will investigate model-based Systems Engineering.
