The article is based on a study that lists UTEP among the most effective universities in helping graduates move from family incomes in the lowest 20% (less than $25,000 a year) to the top 20% (at least $110,000 a year)... Sebastian Perez-Navarro, a communication studies major at The University of Texas at El Paso, recently earned top honors at the Pi Kappa Delta 2025 National Comprehensive Tournament, bringing home a national championship in Spanish Impromptu Speaking and two additional top-three finishes. UTEP Student Wins National Speech and Debate Championship

EL PASO, Texas (March 26, 2025) – At just 19 and in his second semester at The University of Texas at El Paso, Sebastian Perez-Navarro is already a man on the move. This March, he earned top honors at the Pi Kappa Delta 2025 National Comprehensive Tournament, bringing home a national championship in Spanish Impromptu Speaking and two additional top-three finishes.

On Wednesday, officials from UTEP and Sundt Construction held a “topping out” ceremony to celebrate a major construction milestone for Texas Western Hall, the newest learning complex on campus.
