TX-RAMP Certification

Recent legislation passed by the Texas Legislature may have an impact on departments that intend on entering or renewing a contract that has a cloud computing service component. TX-RAMP is a new certification process from the State of Texas Department of Information Resources to ensure that all cloud vendors the University contracts with, meet the minimum security guidelines for the data we store and the software we use. All cloud vendors must be TX-RAMP certified to be purchased for University use. For more information on TX-RAMP please contact the UTEP Purchasing Office.

Blackboard Ultra Training

This January, Technology Support hosted its bi-annual series of live training sessions. These were focused on the new Blackboard Ultra and other teaching tools. Participants were given the choice of attending either in person or online. Transitioning to Blackboard Ultra was covered in-depth, as well as training on other Teaching Tools that are available to UTEP faculty. If you were not able to attend, Self-paced Training is now available on the UTEP Blackboard web page. You can also find more information on UTEP Teaching Tools Dashboard linked below.
