Roberto Coronado’s New Role at the Dallas Fed

His team spans Texas, southern New Mexico, and northern Louisiana, aiming to build strategic partnerships that shape the Dallas Fed’s understanding of the economy and promote economic inclusion.

Coronado’s Journey:
- Early Career: Coronado’s journey began with a bachelor’s in accounting and economics, followed by a master’s in economics from UTEP. An internship at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, El Paso Branch, turned into an 18-year career.
- Academic Pursuits: Coronado earned his doctorate in economics from the University of Houston, which propelled him up the ranks within the Fed.
- Current Role: As Senior Vice President and Senior Economist, he oversees economic research and outreach in West Texas and Southern New Mexico. He also recruits branch board members.
- Impact at UTEP: Coronado has taught for Hunt Business Executive MBA program and was celebrated in 2019 as a Distinguished Alumni.
