Inside the Vault with Margie Salazar
Margie Salazar, this year’s Gold Nugget, met with Hunt Business students to share her career story, including becoming the first female and Latina CEO in the history of FirstLight Federal Credit Union. Salazar shared insights on the banking industry, career paths, and the importance of adaptability.
Outstanding Alumni Celebration
Hunt Business faculty, staff, students, and alumni honored Dick Myers, this year’s Distinguished Alumni, and Margie Salazar at a private event celebrating their careers and advocacy. Myers’ daughter, Ann Templeton, presented a speech on behalf of her father. Each honoree received a special gift from the college, commemorating their impact.

Lunch and Lead with Margie Salazar
An intimate, moderated discussion with Salazar and UTEP MBA students, hosted at the UTEP Graduate Business Center in Downtown El Paso. Salazar discussed her career highlights, lessons learned and shared the importance of “self-initiated learning” for career advancement and personal development.
