Bank of America Banking Academy Partnership with the University of Texas at El Paso

Educating and empowering the next generation of leaders in the financial sector is essential to the work that Bank of America does in the communities it serves.
The bank was a founding partner of the Banking Academy at the Woody L. Hunt College of Business. As a partner, the bank took the opportunity to strengthen its relationship with UTEP and Hunt Business to build pipelines of diverse students interested in pursuing banking careers.
As a partner, Bank of America has participated in workshops, networking and information sessions, and visited classrooms to offer insight into the industry. These engagements promote employment opportunities in the field and support students in building financial literacy.
“Engaging with students at this level is such a great opportunity because it gives us the chance to have an impact on the next generation of leaders in the industry,” said Kristi Marcum, President Bank of America El Paso. “The program’s commitment to enhancing students’ access to resources to foster opportunities for success aligns with our dedication to advance economic mobility through educational leadership.”
Through its $100,000 investment, Bank of America has also supported on-site Merrill corporate site tours and a ‘Careers in Banking’ class with local leadership.
The Banking Academy continues to make waves. Bank of America carries out campus recruiting for internships and full-time employment roles after graduation.
Enrique Cruz, a member of the inaugural cohort of the Academy, currently serves in a full-time position through a Bank of America Campus Program.
UTEP students are the next generation of leaders in banking and financial institutions. Bank of America is one of many honored partners playing an active role in supporting Hunt Business students’ drive to make a difference in the banking industry.
