Behind the Honor: Meet the Students Leading Commencement
by Hunt Business Staff
What’s Happening: Three standout Hunt Business students will play pivotal roles in the upcoming Commencement ceremony, serving as Student Marshal and Banner Bearers. These roles recognize their academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to the college community.
Who they are:
- Mariana Casas will join as a Student Marshal, graduating with a degree in Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics. Casas gained valuable experience through internships at Hunt Companies locally and BlackRock and Strategy& in New York City. After graduation, she will return to New York to begin her career as a consultant, fulfilling her dream of living and working in the Big Apple.
- Trinity Perez-Martinez will represent Hunt Business as the Student College Banner Bearer. Graduating with a degree in accounting, Perez-Martinez credits her involvement in Beta Alpha Psi for opening doors to national conferences and securing a tax internship that became a job offer. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Master of Accountancy at UTEP and become a Certified Public Accountant.
- Adan Rosales will serve as the Student University Banner Bearer. Graduating with a marketing degree, Rosales achieved a significant milestone by winning first place at the University of California's Summer Institute for Emerging Managers and Leaders (SIEML). His success earned him tuition-free access to any University of California business school for an MBA.
What drives them:
- “My family had a huge impact on my college journey. My mother always pushed me to keep pushing and keep trying, she was the person who believed in me the most even at times when I didn't even believe in myself,” said Casas.
- “My sisters provided unwavering encouragement, inspiring me to persevere despite challenges. Professors shaped my academic and career goals, while my best friend, Deisy, has been a constant source of positivity,” shared Perez-Martinez.
- Reflecting on his aspirations, Rosales said, “I am fortunate to have these opportunities, and I plan to use them to make a significant contribution to my community. My primary goal in life is to design and build my dream house and make it a home.”
Mark your calendar: The Hunt Business Commencement ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 14, at 6 p.m.
