From BUSN to UGLC: Student Orgs Take Center Stage

The Big Picture
Hunt Business brought its student organizations to a major population center at the UTEP campus on Sept. 16, hosting its first Student Org Fair at the Undergraduate Learning Center (UGLC).
The shift in location gave Hunt orgs a new stage to meet UTEP freshmen and sophomores outside the business-school orbit in the Business Administration Building (BUSN).
Why It Matters
Student organizations fuel leadership, networking, and professional growth. By meeting students earlier in their academic journey, Hunt orgs are planting seeds for future majors — and future leaders.

Between the Lines
Location matters. Taking the fair to the UGLC meant engaging students who may not yet see themselves in Hunt Business — and showing them what’s possible.
What They’re Saying
“Getting involved early provides students a chance to build confidence, community, and soft skills they’ll carry throughout their time at UTEP and into their careers. That’s why we’re expanding out into other areas of the University – to connect pre-business students with orgs earlier,” said David Sterling, Student Engagement Manager.
What’s Next
Orgs are following up with students who signed up for more information, keeping the momentum going and building the next wave of Hunt involvement.
