Hunt Business Welcomes Future Miners at Orange and Blue Day
Big Picture
Orange and Blue Day brought hundreds of future Miners to the UTEP campus — and Hunt Business met them with energy, conversation, and plenty of UTEP pride.
Why It Matters
Engagement starts early. The College Showcase provided high school juniors and seniors a firsthand look at Hunt Business programs, people, and community — turning curiosity into connection.
What Happened
- Held October 25, Hunt Business hosted an outdoor information fair between the Business Administration Building and the UTEP Library. Student organizations, advising teams, faculty, and the Hunt Business Alumni Network welcomed prospective students, sharing insights, giveaways, and stories.
- Additional college representatives included Accounting and Information Systems and Marketing, Management and Supply Chain Departments. The Hunt Business Professional Development team provided information on the college's four corporate academies in banking, risk management, supply chain, and HR.
- Several student organizations shared the benefits of creating community and getting involved outside the classroom.
- Three short presentations — including one in Spanish — offered parents and future students snapshots of Hunt Business majors, career paths and opportunities.
What They're Saying
“When students experience the sense of pride at Hunt Business — how faculty, staff, and alumni unite to welcome them — that’s when these future Miners begin to imagine themselves as part of our community of leaders and learners.”
