Mondragón Students Visit UTEP campus, Hunt Business
The Big Picture
Four business students from Universidad de Mondragón México in Querétaro visited the Woody L. Hunt College of Business from October 29 –31 as part of an international exchange designed to deepen collaboration and cross-border learning.
Their visit showcased UTEP’s strong ties to Mexico’s higher education institutions and the shared commitment to preparing globally minded business leaders.
Why It Matters
The academic visit strengthens a long-standing relationship between UTEP and Mondragón University, giving students firsthand experience in border-region commerce, innovation, and culture.
Over three days, the visiting students participated in lectures, business tours, and cultural activities that highlight how the El Paso–Juárez region operates as a living laboratory for international business education.
What Happened
The delegation’s itinerary included:
- A campus and college tour led by Hunt Business faculty and staff.
- Classroom interactions with UTEP students in Claudia Gómez’s marketing course.
- Guest lectures from John Gibson, Ph.D., and Arturo Barrio on strategic management and cross-border innovation.
- Industry visits to Amazon, the El Paso Chihuahuas, and Top Golf, offering real-world insight into operations and customer engagement.
- A reception hosted by Dean Hadjimarcou in the WestStar Collaborative Atrium, where the visitors met faculty, students, and Paydirt Pete for photos.
