Hunt Business Hosts UAGro Delegation for Binational Collaboration

The Big Picture
The UTEP Woody L. Hunt College of Business welcomed Dr. Citlalli Arroyo Rosas, Dean of the College of Business Administration at the Autonomous University of Guerrero (UAGRO), Professor Mayanín Gómez Rojas, and Professor Joserrith Gutiérrez Alanís, for a two-day visit on December 8–9. The visit strengthened an emerging academic partnership grounded in binational collaboration and classroom-to-classroom engagement.
Why It Matters
Hunt Business and UAGRO have collaborated since Spring 2025 through the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), where mixed teams of students worked together on business plans and virtual lectures co-led by Gutierrez Alanís and Hunt Business faculty member Delfina Glenn. Bringing that work into an in-person setting created new momentum for expanding opportunities on both campuses. More than 200 students from both universities have benefited from this experience.
What Happened
Across two days, the delegation:
• Met with UTEP leadership, faculty, and program directors.
• Discussed potential collaborations in microcredentials, student mobility, and joint programming.
• Reviewed COIL outcomes and explored how to scale binational academic projects.
• Strengthened connections tied to US-Mexico trade, cross-border education, and community impact.
The Takeaway
The visit deepened an already promising partnership and set the stage for expanded work between Hunt Business and UAGRO, providing students with more opportunities to engage in meaningful, binational learning experiences. This partnership is part of our ongoing commitment to enhance our students’ proficiency in U.S.–Mexico Commerce and Trade at the Woody L. Hunt College of Business.
