HCM Academy Visits ADP to Cap Mentorship Program

The Big Picture
Students in the UTEP Human Capital Management (HCM) Academy ended their six-week ADP mentorship program with a hands-on site visit to the ADP One Center in West El Paso. The visit brought together mentors and mentees for a final, in-person look at how a people-driven organization manages daily operations.
Why It Matters
The ADP partnership provides early exposure to the environments students hope to join. For many, it was their first step inside a large corporate setting — a moment that clarified what HR, people operations, and talent development careers look like in practice. It also strengthened the Academy’s connection to UTEP Alumni now working and leading at ADP.
What Happened
Throughout the visit, students:
- Toured the ADP One Center with their mentors.
- Met with UTEP Alumni and former HCM Academy students now in professional roles at ADP.
- Asked questions about internships, pathways, and navigating early-career opportunities.
- Closed the day with a group networking session bringing the full cohort together.
The Takeaway
The mentorship program doesn’t just introduce students to industry — it shows them what’s possible. Seeing alumni thriving inside ADP underscored the value of the partnership and gave students a tangible example of where the HCM Academy can lead.
