Skov Essay Competition on Business Ethics
Launched in 2013, the Skov Essay Competition on Business Ethics is an annual essay writing contest for students in the El Paso region. Students participate in the competition by writing about a topic related to business ethics.
For our next competition (Deadline March 22, 2026), we invite UTEP undergraduate students to write on the following topic: "Individuals with higher confidence in their abilities often perform better. Explain how self-efficacy affects a person’s motivation to learn financial literacy skills and make sound financial decisions.”
The Woody L. Hunt College of Business established the competition as a way to consistently interact with the community and positively influence the ethical climate in the El Paso region. Primary funding for the competition is generously provided by Robert E. and Jacqueline Skov.
