Changing your temporary password
To change the password to your temporary account, please follow these steps:
If you were unable to come into campus to pick up your Mac laptop, a temporary login account was created for you. Once the UTEP campus returns to normal operations, the temporary account will be deleted and the Mac will need to be set up under your proper UTEP credentials. 1. Open "System Preferences" from the Dock, Apple Menu or Launchpad:
2. In System Preferences, click on the "Users & Groups" icon:
3. Your temporary account will be highlighted. Click on the "Change Password..." button to continue:
3b. You also have the choice of changing the account's picture if so desired. Click on the "edit" link that appears when you hover the account picture to change it:
4. Type in the current temporary password and enter a new, secure password. Enter it again for verification and click the blue "Change Password" button:
